awaiting

the reason for this post....

A week and a half, to be exact it's 10 days, that doesn't seem like such a long time, but for me it does, since the "thing" I'm waiting for is the most important "thing" to start me off on the rest of my life. A life long journey to be married to my best friend. So yes 10 days sure isn't that long, but for me somedays feel like a life time. He says "it's still six weeks away", well I don't know what he's waiting for, but I'm sure not waiting another six weeks!
So yes the countdown has begun I probably should have started it a while ago, but I didn't want to get too excited. I was the kind of kid that packed up for a sleep over at least a week in advance just because I was so excited, so you could see why I didn't start my countdown sooner. I would have made the anticipation that much harder on myself.
People keep asking me if I'm scared or nervous, NOSIREE (pronounced NO SIR E), not me. I'm so excited! oh happy day :) I think it's safe to say the two of us are anxiously awaiting june 18th...

yay for DI

if you know me well, then you will know the answer to this question. where is the #1 place i shop?

well lucky for me i found some hand sticheries yesterday and just re-painted the frames to make them look fresh (it helped them out a lot). and last week i found the box frame, it just needed a new scenery inside so i took some flowers from my bridal boquet and some backround paper (thanks mom for the idea :)

3rd times a charm

trying to make soemthing beautiful for my future home, sometimes simple is better. i started out with the bottle display: didn't like it , then onto the bird on a branch : didn't like it, so i went with sinple and TADA my finished product is the three aqua colored circle paper fans!

attempted skirt making

last week i attempted to make some skirts, the grey onewith flowers is made out of an old shirt, i just cut the top off and added al elastic waiste. i wad too impatient to use a pattern, it's not too shabby, but i need to learn some patience and start learning how to use patterns.

ivory rose neclace

simple yet elegant: large ivory rose charm on a silver chain. I had to make one for me of course too (but mine is on a bronze chain).

MA: april 2010

and i made two more similar to this with the same ribbon, only one is with red, and then the other MUSTARD YELLOW (my favorite).
made this one just this morning and i am loving these flowers
these two were made for Christa's new baby girl!

i once used to say "you can never have too many headband", but lately i'm starting to think "one person CAN in-fact have too many headbands" and that person is probably ME.

lovely lady

this lamp was a happy find of mine last summer at the local DI and then of course i re covered the lamp shade to match the decor of my apartment and it served as a lovely decoration. well now i have spray painted the whole thing white and then rubbed stain over it. i re- re- covered the lampshade with the fabric my mom bought to re-cover her patio furniture (woops), and cut our some flower type shapes from another fabric i had and attached it on top. i really like it, and hope Andrey will learn to also :) i don't know quite how it will fit in with all of our stuff in the new apartment, but i'll make it work!

My Bridal Shower

oh yes, this blessed day, thanks to so many who made it "MEMORABLE" (that is for sure).
it was fun to see so many fun faces and receive gifts to help jump start the beginning of my eternal life with Andrey.
we are grateful for all those for supporting us and giving us so many wonderful gifts.
it is apparent i must learn how to cook ASAP.
you know you must learn how to cook and start using a cook book when you can't even make macaroni and cheese in a way that tastes good.

headband fancy

taking a stroll through my facebook and noticed i had many a pictures with the different headbands/ head accessories i have made, it was kind of a fun journey to see.
Also note the change of hair, ha.

jedi braid

I just found this awesome picture to prove that I once upon a time had a jedi braid. I was proud of it but my mom was not so fond of it, so a couple years ago when I was in China for a semester Icut it off on mothers day for her. I must admit sometimes I wish I still had it...
